2012 was an interesting year for social media. Some networks grew, some diminished and new things happened every single day. There was twitter, facebook, google plus, pinterest, instagram and even more that captured our every thought.

Below is a very interesting infograph on social media statistics for 2012. Check it out…

I think the most interesting point that this covers is that 40% of users socialize more online than face-to-face. There is nothing more important than that personal relationship that only face-to-face conversation can cover. If this does nothing else, it makes us aware of how much time we spend creating online and offline relationships.

  1. Out of the 8 billion people on the planet, 4.8 billion have a mobile device while only 4.2 billion have a toothbrush!
My first thought is no way. Second thought – Does it count all mobile devices or strictly just each person who has a mobile device or a couple mobile devices? Final thought: Would I give up my toothbrush before my mobile device? I mean, there’s still mouthwash and floss… Nah. I think I’d keep my brush.

      • Yep. It’s logically insane. Nonetheless, it supports the notions of social media being integral to any business or ministry setting. Social media is a place where people are. It’s part of what we need to excel at in order to help people achieve better lives. Agree?
