There are many things that can change your perspective, but there are two things that seem to most beneficial. The most important part about these actions and reactions is that you get to choose them each day.

1. Who and What You Let In

A friend of mine always says “good in equals good out.” On the other side of that is “bad in equals bad out”. You get to choose what you watch, what you listen to and who you let pour into your life. Who would you rather let into your life? Someone who fills you with positive things or someone who fills you with negativity? Yes, that’s a real question. I ask this because some people are actually drawn to negativity, such as gossip and things that don’t lift your spirits. Try not dwelling on those things and see the change that happens in your life.

2. Your Attitude

Believe it or not, you also get to choose your attitude. On some days you have to decide to have a good attitude, right? Your outside circumstances don’t dictate your attitude… You do. Remember that things outside of your control of course cannot be controlled, so make sure to only concern yourself with things that can actually be controlled. That alone will help your perspective on things.

Ultimately, there are many things that can help change your perspective on life, but I believe that if you start with these two things, you will see an immediate difference. Maybe you are at a point in life where you need a perspective change and don’t know where to begin…

Start with choosing joy today.
