What REALLY Happens When You Have a Lasting Relationship

My wife and I have known each other more than 20 years, over half our lives. We have been in a (romantic) relationship for the past 15 years and 12 of those years we have been married. I think we may have crossed over to what might be called a lasting relationship.

We have learned a lot through the “discoveRING” stage of our marriage, and just like many marriages and relationships at this stage, it is obvious that we have been in our relationship for a really long time!

Below is a fun video that captures some funny signs that you have been in a relationship forever. I can say many of these are true in me and my wife’s relationship. I’m just not saying which ones! 😉  Enjoy!!

Add to the list. What is another sign you’ve been in a relationship forever?

Adam, yes! I find myself with a big smile on my face at the end of it each time I watch it.

That is hilarious! I would add:

    1. You develop your own language or lingo. My husband and I speak in lyrics and lines. There is always a lyric from a song or a line from a movie that perfectly fits any situation.

    2. You can pick out each other’s clothes. Not that you necessarily do but you could.

    3. You meet people can tell right away if your spouse would or would not like them.

Ha! I can relate to #3…but as far as #2 I think we would struggle. My wife would never pick out the clothes I think would look good on her, but then she tries them on and likes them.

I love that video. I cracked up and sent it to my wife immediately!

Inside jokes are huge part of our relationship and we definitely have our own lingo like Julia mentioned. Great post! Thanks for sharing!
