Leaders can develop the competencies and confidence of others by equipping and encouraging them to take ownership. When leaders allow for this to take place, employees want to help, because they feel that they contribute to the overall success of the company. Always remember that everyone has something to offer. When employees are allowed to think for themselves and offer their best ideas for the entire team to hear, then and only then is a company able to become its very best.

Trust encourages more dialogue, creates more freedom in the workplace, and of course strengthens relationships between individuals in the workplace. Teams do not become great teams just by working with each other, but they become a great team when they trust and respect each other. Trust then is at the core of a thriving team.
Give Your Power Away to Others
Enabling people to act is not anything new, but it is necessary to encourage a team to contribute what they have to offer. When leaders give their power away, they become enablers. True leaders duplicate themselves and allow others to do the same. This creates a team of leaders, rather than a team of followers. When this happens, you will have many people going after the same goals in harmony, which will always produce better results than when only one person goes after goals.
More unified people pursuing the same goals equals an amazing journey. Share on XGive People More Control to Contribute
Any organization is only as strong as its people, so this tells me that it is important to hear what everyone has to say, not just one person. I have found that when I keep to myself, sometimes the ideas that I think are great, are not really that good. This is because when I do not discuss ideas, I have not involved those whom these ideas will most impact. A good rule of thumb is to never go at things alone, but to take at least one or two people with you on your journey. Doing this will at the very least strengthen relationships, and there is never anything wrong with doing that.
It is when we give others more control and responsibility to contribute that we are given more opportunities to encourage and congratulate them. We need to find more ways to encourage those around us, as it always beneficial to take notice of the good things around us. Keeping our outlook on our work and our lives positive will help us find positive outcomes. When leaders only put down employees and humiliate them, it creates a negative environment for employees and negative outcomes will be found more often than not. Equipping your team to contribute includes encouraging them along the way.
Seeking opportunities to encourage others changes an environment instantly. Share on X
