In you business, a good gauge of where things really are is seeing how things will go without you.

Most people think that they should have to be there for things to run smoothly. This is a common misperception in the marketplace. But what if we look at this in a different light? What if the training and time put in beforehand affected your team enough to carry them through on their own. A football coach doesn’t play the game, right? It is the coaching before the game and practice that prepares your team.

On the flip-side of this, you need to have a team of character who is the same whether you are around or not. Character is the difference-maker. If you are in this scenario as an employee, make your character a top priority.  It doesn’t matter if someone is looking. The same efforts you put in when people are around should be the same you put in at all times. It’s just better that way.

After you have left a team or business, your legacy should have left a lasting impression to keep it going stronger than ever before, not fall flat on it’s face. This point references a recent post, You Can Do More When Others Want You To Succeed.

Let us devote ourselves to becoming better employers and employees by having fun, wanting to see others succeed, working hard, trusting others more often with bigger tasks, letting others learn from their mistakes, maintaining high character at all times and building each other up by wanting those around us to succeed.

What can you do to leave a lasting impression with those around you? You can leave your comment below.

  1. Hi Adam,

For sure it’s important a constant positive feedback, lots of encourage and support. It’s really important to show them how much you need them to be better so they can feel the same bout their selves, try to be an example and give them space to participate, share ideas and make decisions.

Being a constant motivator to make them grow as persons and professionals.
To love them as they are.
So, Positivism + Love + Motivation
