As founder and CEO of BroadbandTV, Shahrzad Rafati says that she looks at every mistake as a lesson. She’s become okay with making mistakes, and doing so has made her very successful. Instead of cowering from her mistakes, she wants to understand how her mistakes affect her business. Whether it’s a significant error in judgment or a minor oversight, she strives to find value in every outcome.
If you’ve been following me for some time, then you know that I’m all for making mistakes on the way to finding success, as well. You need these mistakes to learn what works and what doesn’t. You can then make changes along the way to better your final outcome. When you understand that perfection isn’t possible, no matter how much time is put into the decision making process, your outlook on the decision making process changes. A decision must be made, no matter the outcome.
Sure, you may not have it all figured out yet, but that’s okay. The journey you travel is for learning, even if you don’t understand what’s ahead. Life will teach you lessons—learn from these opportunities, become smarter, increase your courage levels, and keep pressing forward. Don’t let wrong decisions cause you to give up, but rather, use what you learn from your decisions to become a better you.
