You don’t need to be a CEO of some huge corporation to make a difference in the business world. You also don’t need to be in management to impact your organization. People are wired differently, and it’s okay to be an assistant to someone. People need your help in whatever capacity that may be. It’s also okay to be an employee in a company if that’s what you’re happy doing.
Too many times, people use comparison as a reason to want to change their profession, but that’s not a good enough reason to change. To be like someone else is to overlook the purpose you have for your life. I know I have focused on this subject a lot lately, but it’s so important. When you lose sight of the fact that you are you for a reason, and nobody else can do what you do, the importance of knowing who you are as a person becomes much more clear.
Whatever your profession is right now, you are already making a difference in the lives of others in some way. You are important in the grand business ecosystem. Yes, I believe that anyone in any job, no matter how miserable it seems, can find happiness in their work. I’m not joined by many other people who believe this way, but when you decide to have purpose and you decide to have happiness, you shouldn’t let anyone get in the way of it — not a boss, not a coworker — nobody. But, as many other things in life, it’s a mental decision to not let exterior circumstances dictate happiness. It’s called mental toughness, my friend, and people need more of it. You can be the change you want to see in your workplace. You can influence a negative atmosphere for good.
People need more mental toughness. Share on XThe problem is when people choose not to grab hold of the purpose of their work, and instead believe that their work — even their existence — doesn’t matter. I mean, if you simply come in contact with other people, you make a difference in this world. If you’re reading this, you can make an impact, but it’s up to you to know in what capacity. I can’t tell you who you need to be, but I can help get you there.
Please take the permission to be you, because that’s who we need.
