Yesterday we talked about writing down your personal mission statement or intentions down, so that you can see them everyday. But, what about when it comes to putting the work in? The truth is that most people have some idea of what success means to them, they just aren’t willing to put the work in.
Here are 3 ways to make sure that you are getting things done:
1. Have a realistic plan.
Nothing discourages someone more than not reaching their desired plan. It will stop someone before they even start. Know your limits and your schedule and then make your plan. Stretch yourself, but don’t neglect your priorities or make your goals too big for the season that you are in.
2. Tell others.
As you start telling others about what you are pursuing, it will sound weird. This is because you haven’t reached your goals yet, but telling others creates necessary accountability. Surround yourself with others that build you up, not people that tear you down. When others believe in you, the doubt starts to fade away and putting the work in is enjoyable again.
3. Rejuvenate.
Positively build yourself up.
Pray, read, spend time with your family…
Reward yourself in a way that will start to refresh you so that you can get back to your plan.
When you have a plan it is much more difficult to lose your way. Make a plan, stay focused and execute.
