After growth takes place in your life, the best time is usually looking back on that time in life, not while you’re in the middle of it all. Growing in life usually comes with some strain, some pull, some challenging. And sometimes people have to learn things the hard way.
But, here are three reasons why growing is better than never growing at all:
1. It will prepare you for when you really need it.
Most of the things that “stretch” us are preparing us for a time when we need it the most. You will look back and be grateful for that time in life, because you will now be prepared. The one month period that you spend being stretched doesn’t compare to the many years of living out what you have learned.
2. You will realize that it is just a part of life and isn’t really that bad.
Again, when you are in a “stretching” season, life seems hectic. There doesn’t seem to be any free time, sleep doesn’t come as often, life becomes even more real and you can only focus on the task at hand. It happens to all of us at some point. But, in the end you will have picked up more life lessons. Your outlook will be different.
3. Now, you will have those life experiences to share with others.
You will be able to help others through their time of stretching. Just letting someone else know that you understand where they are at in life can help them along the way. Mentoring others through this time will be beneficial for both you and the person that doesn’t know when life will get back to “normal”.
Life is full of seasons, but the secret is to remain joyful, know who you are and to realize that you can’t take on all of life’s obstacles alone. If you are the one going through this kind of season, find someone to talk to as you learn some new life lessons that will shape you into a better person.
So, tell us one life situation where you grew in and became a better person through it? You can leave a comment below.

This is a great post and very true! I would often find myself in seasons of “stretching” and I would feel so frustrated. I would try to rush through the season or pray for it to be over quickly, later on learning it was for my growth and maturation. The experience I gained during those difficult times allowed me to see life from a new perspective and gain momentum for a new season. I became more courageous, more loving and more forgiving during those “stretches”. Working on jobs that weren’t fulfilling and payed very little, I could hear my Father saying “be patient”. While going through a heart wrenching divorce, I could feel God saying,”I’ll never leave you nor forsake you”. Great post and to anyone going through a stretch, hang in there your best days are ahead of you!
