What Makes A Great Leader

[View Video In Browser]

This video is an interview for political concerns, but it still applies to leadership in all of our lives. I really like the points that Robin Sharma makes in this interview. If you haven’t taken a look at his other videos or read his blog before, you should take a few minutes and check them out.

So, what do you think is one quality that a great leader displays? You can leave your comment below.

The best trait a senior leader can have and display is humility. A humble leader draws others to their vision and goals because they (the followers) want to be involved and a part of what the leader is portraying and offering for the organization. Humility is the realistic path to follower buy-in and commitment to the desired vision.

So true, Joe. Being humble is probably the most important trait anyone can display.

I believe that great leaders are not “made”. Sure, stoicism and humility are traits of a great leader, but I believe they are born and not made.

Robin was the guest speaker at a recent Town Hall I attended at work. Very powerful in person and many excellent points to take back and work on as a leader.

What stood out the most: Humble, low key and authenticity (meaning talk, act and live by your principles). I do not agree that leaders need to be born. I truly believe that it can be trained. As always, you have the naturals with talent and the hard workers and it usually goes better for the las ones. So, if you train hard you can be a great leader.

And thanks, I did not know him.
