Goal Setting

We’ve talked about goal setting before, but we’ve never discussed why we should even do it.

So, here are 3 reasons why goal setting is so important:

1. It keeps you on target.

When you have a destination, you know where you’re headed and you can find the quickest, most direct route possible. When this happens, you waste a lot less time, life has a much greater purpose and you really do live life to the fullest.

2. It helps you to see the future and the NOW.

Setting huge goals is awesome, but that’s only the first part of it. When you have goals it lets you know what you need to do today to get you to where you need to go. It also lets you know who you need to surround yourself with to make things happen.

Really, the question we should ask ourselves is,

“What should I be doing today to help me reach my goals?”

3.It makes you get organized.

When goals are clearly written down and reviewed on a continuous basis, it forces you to make things happen. Yes, writing down goals does take time, but it’s so worth it. There are so many reasons why it is great to do so, but just a few reasons are that it gives higher self esteem because you feel accomplished, it makes you actually think about life and gives a greater outlook on life as well. A lot of people believe that things will just happen for them and everything will fall in their laps without having to put any work into it at all, when this just isn’t true. You do reap what you sow.

To get a more in depth look into goal setting read Success Is Not An Accident and purchase these materials. I would recommend these things to anyone who is serious about setting huge goals.

Is goal setting important to you, and if so, how are you doing on your 2011 goals?

Absolutely important! I’m an employee of Joel Benson’s and just got to meet Stevan Stein a few days ago when he was in NC. u00a0I’m going on the World Race, an 11 month mission trip to 11 countries, and u00a0in preparation for it have had to plan out what I need to do and when to do it in order to prepare for it. u00a0Mr Benson has coached me on goal setting for the last few yrs and it’s been so helpful. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without setting goals and striving for them. Thanks for your blogs, I enjoy reading them!n
