A child dies every three seconds in Africa. Today, 30,000 children will die from poverty. With all the stupid little things that we worry about from day to day and with all the money we have at our fingertips, why the hell can’t we help them out in some way?
Answer to your question – they die, because we worship ourselves….we don't help them, because we spend our money (treasure) on ourselves. And the Word says that where our treasure is, there our heart is also…So, if my money is spent on me, then I worship me. I may call Him "Lord", but "follow the money" and my real god will be revealed. (BTW, I'm not preachin to nobody but me.) So, thank you son for "getting it". By the way, the fact you were moved to say "hell" simply conveys your passion for the hungry…and remember, passion reveals calling….

Ain't that the truth. I'm sponsering two kids through World Vision and it's helped me to not spend money so carelessly. If more people sponsered, it can be humbling and it disciplines people to save money for the ones who really need it. Sometimes loving others can feel like an inconvenience when it interrupts your lifestyle, but it's worth it and you'll soon realize that others long for your time that you set for yourself. I agree why the hell can't we. We are so selfish. This past Sunday our pastor Taught from Luke 6: 20 – 23. We spent a good amount of time on the last half of vs. 21 "Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh." He taught it a way that I'd never heard done before. He didn't teach it as we weep now but will have joy in heaven. He taught it as being broken and weep over the things that break God's heart. He said, "We will be blessed when we weep over the same things that break God's heart." We have a little girl we sponsor in India. I feel that sometimes I am more blessed to have her in my life than we have blessed her.
