Sometimes people will categorize forms of communication into many different groups, but to make things easy, I want to focus on the three basic forms of communication: verbal, written, and nonverbal. Verbal communication includes spoken word. Of course, written communication includes books, blog posts, newspaper — anything in print, really. Since nonverbal communication entails communicating by sending and receiving wordless messages, this includes forms of communication such as visual art and body language.

So, why is all of this important to your business?

The more senses of consumers you can appeal to while advertising to them, the better your chances are of selling products.

  • Is your product visually appealing?
  • Are you verbally communicating what you want your audience to feel when they see you and your product?
  • What message does your body language send as you are trying to sell your product?
  • Are your written words doing your marketing copy justice?
  • Does your video portray your message correctly?
  • Does the background music in your advertisement bring the right emotion to your product’s image?

Advertising is an art that must be focused on to see success. Remember that as you develop your next launch.
