I wish it was always easy to not stress, as the above quote tells us not to do. If I am real about it, there’s tons to stress about, right? But, is it productive or will it even accomplish anything? Well, no. Stress definitely doesn’t help the situation or anyone around you.  When you cut stress out, it allows you to focus on the right things. It is one key to being at your best more often. Begin to cut the stress out of your life and see the difference.

Here are four ways to cut stress out of your life and be at 110% more often:

1. Step Away

Take more breaks. Take vacations. Get away and change your perspective. You need this to recharge and rejuvenate.

2. Take Care Of  Yourself

Get enough good rest, eat life-enhancing foods and exercise daily. These are the things that you need to do to prepare for what you need to accomplish.

3. Have A Manageable Workload

Delegate more often when possible and be realistic with what you take on. If at all possible, leave work at work.

4. Clear Your Mind

Get rid of the mental clutter by accomplishing tasks when they come up. You will complete it sooner than you think and you can finally stop thinking about it over and over again. Get tasks done when they arise and manage your time better with your schedule and calendar.

If you feel that you aren’t able to do these things, you probably stress more often and feel like you don’t have the time to accomplish the tasks at hand. So, create more time in your schedule to step away from it all, take care of yourself, plan out your day and clear your mind. These might not seem like the most important things to do, but what it does is it makes a proactive effort to be at 110% more often.

  1. Great post Adam and great advice. Stress is the one thing that you can’t avoid and be successful so it must be managed.

  3. There’s another part of the equation, feeling the love from others. I find I’m at the “top of my game” when another person whether it be my wife or a close friend encourages me to be my best because of the love he/she feels for me. There’s nothing as wonderful as having a friend shake my hand or give me a hug while telling me what a wonderful job I’ve done. It makes me want to continue doing my best.

  5. Hey Adam,

It’s comforting reading those words, isn’t it? We can get so stressed about work and life that it’s reassuring to hear ‘just do your best and forget the rest’.

But like you said, the fact of the matter is we do stress. It IS important to really think about that though. Is stressing really helping us? For most of us it doesn’t, but I do know folks that seem to rely on stress and anxiety to get things done. I’ve gotta say, how good is that? LOL! Especially when it comes to your overall health.

These are all good strategies for being at 100% more often but none of this happens without some conscious planning and working at eliminating as much stress as we can. But I think it’s worth the effort for a healthier, happier life 🙂

    Blessings,
    Liz
