Whether you realize it or not, you have a way to change people’s perspective when you blog. That’s a big deal, right? You have a chance to make an impact on those around you even those that you don’t personally know. Technology has opened doors that we never saw available.
So, if you are a blogger or on social media networks, here are 3 ways to make a lasting impact in other’s lives:
1. Communicate specifically.
Owning great communication seems to be something that a lot of people struggle with. Set yourself apart with being specific and that alone will open doors for you. People will listen if you are well spoken. There just aren’t enough people doing this today. Learn how to communicate effectively to your audience and just watch what your words can do. Be clear, know the point you are trying to make and go after it.
2. Gain respect through consistency.
Consistency gains readership. Communicating your specific message consistently will help change perspective. If you speak into someone’s life once it may leave a lasting impact, but if you repeatedly share a clear, positive and uplifting message into someone’s life repeatedly, you have a better chance of leaving a lasting impression. Find ways to speak into the lives of those that will listen and gain trust in the process. This will open the doors for you to consistently encourage others.
3. Include stories.
Nothing grabs a reader’s attention more to a story of where you have been at that relates to the conveyed story. Show your perspective. People want to know how you came up to this conclusion in your own life and it helps readers relate. Readers want to know you for who you really are. Open, honest and not perfect. They want it all.
A consistent and specific story gains trust, respect and interest into what else you may have to say. Find more ways to deliver this and just see how much your readership grows. You won’t have to wait long to get other’s attention.
How have you used blogging and social media to gain your audience? You can leave your comment below.

Great points Adam. “Open. Honest. Not perfect.” Those make you seem authentic and…well…human. The irony of social media is that the more we rely on it, the deeper our desire to really connect.

Just found your site, Adam, through the comment your left at “Beyond a Sinner’s Prayer.” I’ve been blogging for five years, and use FB as my primary source for social media. I’m trying to get better at Twitter, but keeping it to 140 characters is a challenge for this wordaholic.

Haha. Awesome. Twitter does make it hard on us. It’s difficult to keep it short sometimes.
