What You Can Be Doing While You Wait

I know that you want your results and you want them now. You have put the work in for long enough and you are tired now. You are just tired of waiting. You may have to get to your answer with patience, but here are three things you can be doing while you are waiting for that answer…

1. Become great at what you are doing.

While you are waiting, it is easy to become down and depressed. Don’t let that happen. Everyday counts, whether you are staying where you are at or moving on. Give it your best no matter what your plan is, because it is the honorable thing to do. You will also pick up things that are useful for the future. Becoming great is beneficial for everyone. Plain and simple.

2. Read and Pray. A lot.

I can’t help but put this step here because I really don’t see how people live life without God. If I tried everything on my own, it would be a huge flop. So, my advice to you here will be faith advice. You can take it or skip over it, but I guarantee you will learn something from reading and praying.

So, read your Bible. Read books that will encourage and grow you as a leader. Pray because God is wiser than you. And then repeat these things.

3. Discuss your situation with others to see if they have insight.

I have learned more from conversations with others about their past situations than I can even recall. When you get together with mentors, make sure to bring up what you are going through and see if they have any advice for you. Who knows? They might have been through the exact situation that you are going through right now. Actually, I can almost guarantee they have.

Yes, patience is definitely a virtue, but you can make the best of any situation. Open your heart up to greatness while you are waiting. You will learn more than you ever expected, reach new heights and impact those around you in the process. There is nothing to lose. Be great today.

How have you displayed patience recently? You can leave your comment below.

Great advice Adam. I heard recently that you need to be doing “something” while you are waiting, because it is easier to steer something that is moving. I’ve been waiting for answers on several fronts for a couple of years. I guess I need to move a litte more. Thanks for sharing.

Well, I waited a year to try out for a team, only to fail, and then wait another year and fail again. I am still a bit bitter about coming so close and failing when I should’ve made it, but I know that it was somehow a part of God’s plan.

There is always next time and there is always something new and fresh. Remember that. If being on the team is what you still want, then go after it. But, if you are done, maybe it’s time for the next big thing. Thanks for sharing.

Petra had a song in the 80’s that said “Good things come to those who wait, not to those who hesitate, so hurry up and wait upon the Lord.”
