Build Your Email List by Creating a Landing Page that Converts

Today’s SOCIAL MEDIA Post – by Reade Milner

A well-crafted landing page can convert a casual visitor into an active member of your community.

From the moment when a visitor gets to your landing page, there are but a precious few seconds for them to decide whether they would like to heed your call to action or not.

This call to action may involve asking them to:

  • Sign up for a newsletter
  • Open a free account
  • Buy a product
  • Download a free e-book
  • Complete other actions that would help them discover more about you or the brand you promote

Seeing how integral your landing page is for your business, it’s safe to say that your landing page should be engaging, persuasive, and interesting enough for people not to leave the website right away.

What Your Landing Page Needs

So what does your landing page need to ensure that it can grab your audience’s attention?

  • It should have engaging headlines.
  • It should convey the message in a manner that’s simple and to the point.
  • It should highlight the benefits over the features.
  • It should show proof that’s compelling and convincing enough to convert people.
  • It should express a specific call to action.
  • It should give guarantees in a confident manner.

With these traits, your landing page can help you gain new clients, retain the loyalty of repeat customers, convince skeptics and naysayers that you’re better than they think, and a whole lot more.

Tools You Can Use For Your Landing Page

Here are a few tools that you can use to make your landing page better and ready to convert more visitors into actual followers, customers, supporters, and ambassadors of your brand:

  • Instapage (Free to $197)
  • Leadpages ($17 a month)
  • Unbounce ($49 to $199 a month)

These three tools allow you to build powerful landing pages even if you have no idea how to code.

How is it done? These tools allow you to create new pages by choosing one of their existing themes or templates and customizing their content, or by creating new pages from scratch by using their drag and drop interface. And yes, you can also use these tools to edit and improve existing pages.

With these tools available, you don’t have to worry about having to invest a huge amount of money for a programmer who can encode your landing pages. These are perfect for people from any industry who are just starting out, working under a limited budget, or would like to have more personal control over their own landing page design.

We have very different styles of writing, Reade. As a long-form storyteller myself, I appreciate the conciseness with which you relay really useful information, as you’ve done again here.

Thanks Erik. I’ve always been a more concise writer. It didn’t serve me well in school (darn page minimums), but definitely seems to work for me professionally. I enjoy reading your posts very much.

      Thanks again!
