My Habits, My Wants, My Likes

This post will probably make me seem really OCD, but I like things a certain way.

I want my side of the closet to be color-coded and no empty hangers.
I want my shoes left on the bottom corner, right side of the bed.
I want to drink coffee out of my Colorado Starbucks mug.

These things probably seem unimportant to you, but I’ve always done crazy little things like this. These habits of mine actually make my day better. I’m sure you have habits, too. They are ones that you’ve always done and there are the ones that you have picked up along the way. Some are weird habits, some are bad habits, and some are good ones. If you feel the need to wear a tuxedo to bed, that’s a weird habit. If you need to throw tomatoes at your kids when they mess up, that’s a bad habit. If you feel compelled to write a love note to your spouse each morning, that’s a good habit. Whatever your wants/likes/habits are, they are what make you unique.

What habits brighten your day?

The little things that brighten my day are when I am cycling to work early in the morning, before the rest of the commuter traffic starts. I just love the peaceful countryside and the wildlife that I encounter. This morning I had a muntjack deer running beside me for a hundred metres or so. 2 weeks ago I had a pair of buzzards take off less that 10 metres in front of me.
These little things remind me how far from nature everyday life takes us.

The little things that brighten my day are morning hugs from my little girl. She really does give the best ones. Kinda makes me feel like I am the best mom in the world.

    Things that brighten my day.

    Easy traffic.
A great song on the radio.
That first sip of my morning coffee.
The kiss and words of I love you from my husband before he leaves for work.

Love the "I just have to write my spouse a love note each morning." Habits are normally linked with badness. Why not turn the tide and make habits good for a change?____Thanks for your vulnerability and insight.

cool post! everybody has bad/good/annoying habits. i get ticked off when someone says they gonna do something like i'll call you tomorrow or i'll do this, and they never follow through. that's definitely a bad one and if you're not gonna do whatever you promise to do just don't say anything!

I don't like controlling/demanding people…those kind who are knit-picky about how things are done or those who go with the flow/have no absolutely no agenda. I'm not big organized freak but if you what things to run smoothly in an organization, you need to have a balance.
