A Great Product Doesn’t Need Tons of Marketing

Whatever you produce is your product. Whether it be your day job, your website, your business or whatever else it is, you can start today with producing it with excellence. So, what does this mean exactly?

Being excellent can mean different things to different people, but it will always include being at your best, having a good response from those around you and it will have people coming back. These should be measurements for when you are asking yourself if something is excellent.

What makes your product memorable?

The best form of marketing is “word of mouth”. This is because when people tell others about a product, they are sold. They love your product so much that they will tell others about it. Think about the things that you love so much that you tell others about them. You are excited when you tell other people about them, right? The people around you see how excited you are about them and want to try that product out for themselves. Excitement around a product creates curiosity.

Ask yourself, “Is my product so good that people tell others about it?”

A great product doesn’t need tons of marketing, but it won’t hurt either. Great marketing for a great product only gets the greatness out faster. On the other hand, if you have a bad product, a lot of marketing gets your bad product out quicker and it will fail quicker, too.

Start today by analyzing what you produce closely. Put yourself in the eyes of a consumer. Is it worth telling others about? If so, then great. If your product hasn’t taken off already, then it won’t be long before it does. If you find that your product doesn’t excite you, then you may need to reevaluate the direction you want to take things.

The difference between an excellent product and a mediocre product is the willingness to fix things if they are broken.

What is your product? You can leave your comment below.

(Insert hokey banter voice) Why thank you for asking Adam! My product is currently my blog, http://forthisisthetime.blogspot.com/ . Although I need to work harder at not making mediocre posts, and strive to make only great ones.
    Great post!
