17″ macbook pro

As you know, I love Macs. The operating system just makes more sense to me than Windows does and the design of the machine is also pretty spectacular. It’s like the designers and engineers thought of every single detail. They are just a blast to work on.

My first experience with a Mac was with a 15″ Macbook Pro I purchased back in 2006. I owned that until I purchased a new Macbook Pro earlier this year. This time around I went with the i5 17″ Macbook Pro because it seemed to have a much larger screen in the store and I thought that would be an added bonus giving me additional screen workspace. Well, after using it for about three months now, I actually like the 15″ better. I found this out through using it in everyday situations. The 15″ just seems like the perfect size. So yeah, my next Pro will most likely be back to the 15″. Thought I was sure on that decision, but glad I at least tried out the big screen. If you are contemplating making a switch to a larger screen, or even a smaller screen, I would recommend making more trips to the store than I did…

I’ve been happy with all other products I own now or have in the past from Apple. Those include an iPhone4, Apple TV and an iPad. Apple can do no wrong. I just know someone out there will have something to say about that.

So, are you a Mac or a PC and why is that?

    Mac. It was simple, WWJD.

I use a Mac Book Pro. 15″. Matte Screen.
I love it. It is my first one.

I would love a Mac Mini for the TV and an iPad.
    One day.

All Mac. Former PC guy though. My senior English teacher converted me in high school. I’ve loved every moment ever since. Not one problem (except the white casing on a 13″ MB that broke away and had to be repaired, but many had a problem with it from doing some research).

Had a white 13″ MacBook for two years.
    Upgraded to a 13″ MBP.
Also have an iPad and iPod touch.

Might get an iPhone when my current phone contract is up next year.

PC for laptop and computer. Only because I have not had the money to purchase a Mac. Looking into a new Mac Book Air. I have an iPad and iPod. Droid X is my phone. Would have and iPhone if they ever came to Verizon. Hopefully they will roll one out in 2011!

I agree though. Apple products are far superior!

      hey, adam.
the macbook air is really only worth while if you have a mac already.
i would recommend that you get a MacBook White.
Those are the same price as the 11″ Macbook Air, and it will be better for you 🙂

      Happy hunting!

I am a Mac. Like you, the OS just makes more sense to me, and the interface is just so much more hands-on and user-friendly. I have yet to own an Apple computer that has disappointed me!

I am a Mac, using a 20″ iMac and 17″ MacBook Pro at home, and a new 27″ iMac at work. Almost have to be when designing websites / graphics. Even had a podcast for a few years that we’ve been thinking about starting back up. http://www.GodsMac.com

I’m a PC because that’s what my parents got me for graduation. I’ve been using it for a little over a year and a half. I’d still rather be a Mac, though. My roommate and I have this unspoken race in the mornings to turn our computers on and pick the music. She’s a Mac. I’m a PC. I always lose and then have to listen to whatever weird crap she thinks is suitable for getting dressed to in the morning.

I have an iPhone 4 and had previously used a BlackBerry Storm 2. I loved my BB, but after upgrading to an iPhone, I could never go back. They’re so much quicker!

Oh, you KNOW how to get comments on your blog. 🙂 (Actually, I write about Apple quite a bit, too.)

I’m a Mac. Former PC. Resisted for years and laughed at Macophiles as inferior underlings while I wrote geeky batch files and transitioned all my Windows boxes over to Linux.

Then OSX arrived. I’ve been hooked ever since. Although I *do* run Windows, it’s…uh…running on my Mac.

By the way, it’s the best way to run Windows ever! Totally stable. A thing of beauty.

I don’t have any native windows machines except the one my employer issued to me.

My co-worker used to say “dogs crawl under fences… software crawls under Windows”!

Like you, I was a “hater” who simply did not understand the hype… but I am hooked… and working on getting my wife to switch… but that is an expensive proposition… could be a 2 MPB family!

I am in love with my Macbook Pro 13″.
It is my first Mac ever, and I am enjoying the heck out of it.
A great start (to what I am sure) to what will be many other Mac products in the future.

If you are a college student, and are wanting an affordable Mac…and are debating getting the MacBook White…you should really consider spending the extra 150 bucks for the pro.
The body is much more durable (aluminum shell rather than plastic) and comes upgraded already.
Also, the 13″ pro is more customizable (hardware wise) than the macbook white.

But, if you do have the money, 15″ will be the better choice, I am sure.
They come (standard) with a better processor and better graphics than the 13″
But it will cost you about 1000 bucks more than the 13″.

Also, I would say…to those who are PC and are harping on the cost of a Mac…SHUSH.
It is well worth the price.
In fact, I would say Macs (in general) last about 2-3x longer than most PCs.
And this comes from personal experience (kind of…friends really). 😀

Happy to be in an industry that thrives on its love for Mac and to stem from a mostly Mac family. Some of my fondest, earliest memories is using Kid Pix on the Apple computers in my school’s lab. Never looked back…

I have though always 17″ screen is too big at least for me. I’d rather take 15″ Hi-Res display since the specs are pretty much identical.

Surprisingly I’m a Mac. Dad got fed up with PCs and got the amazing iMac G3. I still played with a PC couple of years. Then I decided that’s enough with the awful OS and hardware. Three years ago I got my own MacBook and I now have Mac mini. Gonna save money for an iMac: terrific display and design + plays games and edits photos really well.

I did the same thing. I had a 17″ Pro until a douchebag robbed my house and took it along with everything else I owned, anyway, replaced it with a 15″ and have happier with it. BUT – i’m on my third charger in a year and a half. I don’t know what the deal is, but mine keep dying. it sucks.

I’m PC. I get way more bang for my buck. And I like Windows. No apologies there. I do all my graphics/photography design, web design, writing/blogging, music, games, whatever, beautifully on my QuadCore Desktop PC. Paintshop, Photoshop, Illustrator, Notepad, and Office 2K7 do me right.

The best part? It cost me $300, and it was pretty much top of the line.

On the go, my Evo does everything I need.
