There are so many people who put all their eggs in one basket, hoping that a big break will magically come their way. I know this from discussions that I have with people who tell me their dreams. They’re hoping for that big break to come someday, but what they don’t realize is that what seems like big breaks for other people are really years and years of work being done, so that they can reap the reward from putting in the work. Big breaks don’t exist, but enjoying the reward that comes from years of hard work does exist.

You see, businesses who are now on the Fortune 500 list and the individuals who we see on the Forbes 400 list started somewhere less appealing, but we get to see the benefits of their labor. What we don’t see is how they started their business in a garage, or how they had five roommates just so they could make rent. Sure, some of these people inherited money, but most of them started with an idea, just like you and me. They put the work in, and over time they built their ideas into something great. And once investors saw how great these ideas were, they were then backed financially so that they could grow faster and leaner along the way.
Do you have a great idea? If you do, what are you doing with it? Are you sitting on it, waiting for your big break to come? Or, are you working towards bringing your idea into reality?
