Build Classrooms and Change Lives

This project is all about impacting the lives of children in Gulu, Uganda and encouraging them to dream. What we need from this is backing for $30,000 to build a school.

Here are the individual expenses it will take to build a classroom building:

Foundation: $8000

Hydraform Bricks: $9000

Veranda and Pillars: $3000

Roofing: $10,000

But, even when we raise this money, we still can’t do it on our own. That is one reason I have chosen to do this through Restore International. Restore’s goal is to bring hope, justice, and restoration, which is a mission that I believe all of us can rally behind and they are doing just that. My goal with teaming with Restore International and Bob Goff is to not only bring awareness to the needs of the children of Gulu, Uganda, but the need for us as individuals to begin putting leadership into action.

[Video] Rise – Restore Leadership Academy

This video is from Restore International, the organization that we have the opportunity to help through giving during the month of February. I wanted to give you another glimpse into what they do and who they impact through showing you this inspirational short video. Restore is making a difference in Uganda and all over the world and we get to partner with them as a community. This gives each and every one of us another way to make an impact on a part of the world that we may never see and help build classrooms for Restore Leadership Academy. Doing this allows us to reach beyond ourselves and show love to future leaders. I wanted to let you know about this a month ahead of time, so you could not only find out more about Restore International and what they do, but also to let you think about how you can make an impact. We will need $30,000 to make this happen, but I know we can do this. It is a big goal, so I need your help as well as help from your friends in this, as I definitely can’t do it without you.

I don’t know about you, but it is difficult not to get excited about huge goals like this.

Let’s Do Something

There are different kinds of problems. Real problems and not so real problems.

You know.

There are those problems that I think are huge, but pale in comparison to real problems.

Like running out of toilet paper or milk or both at the same time.

After that actually happened to me, I now see that this wasn’t really a big deal.

But, I do consider people living with preventable diseases and thinking nothing can be done about them is a huge problem.

Agree?

Well, I want to do something for my birthday.

I want to do something big.

Can a blog really make a huge difference?

Absolutely.

This is where these people need our help.

For the next 24 hours, we are going to save lives.

Real lives.

All you have to do is buy a malaria net.

This would be the best gift you could ever give me.

Now, you’re now probably thinking how you are going to raise $9000 for one malaria net in a day.

Well you’re in luck.

They’re only $10.

That’s it.

$10.

100% of the money goes to buying the nets and distributing them. These nets will be going to Central Uganda to help stop malaria there. You’ll also be sent the GPS coordinates of where your exact net goes and be able to Google Earth the location of the person who’s life you saved. Pretty cool, huh?
