Yes, I remember how I let my wife know I was into her. Let me give you a little background first before I tell you the whole story. We met in high school, fell in love, became high school sweethearts, married shortly after, and have been in love ever since. I felt like I needed to tell you that before I told you what movie we were watching.

So, we were watching Toy Story 2 and sitting on the couch at my parent’s house. While watching the movie I decided to say the following words to Jasmine in their entirety.

“You can see the tv better from over here.”

I know, cheesy and classy at the same time. But hey, it worked. She scooted over and was really into my suave talk.

So tell me,—

What were the pick up lines you used with your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend that let them know you were into them?

  1. When my current boyfriend and I had just met, I asked him to dance, but he thought I was with someone else. He said, "I don't want to intrude on your date with Chris." I laughed and said, "I'm not with Chris!" Then I leaned in across the table and said, "I'm not with anyone." Coy smile. Game over.

  2. That is smooth, I try that on every girl I meet, never works. 🙂

A good story from me. I was working at a gas station and btw hated it. I was there doing my work when this Girl taps me on the shoulder and says you play drums at so and so church right? Never having this ever happen before I just looked her and smiled. I finally got some words out that resembled an answer. Later that day she came back in with her sister. At that moment I knew that I did not need a pick up line instead I the drums were my pickup line and therefore I was golden.

  3. I worked at a convient store and my husband came in as a customer. He picked up a piece of scrap paper and a pen and said, "Ok, what's your phone number?" I never gave my phone number out bc you never know what kind of crazies are out there, but instead of my usual, "let me take your number and I'll call you" line, I just rattled off my number. I still don't know why I did that. I'm just glad that I did 🙂

  4. I remember meeting my my wife at a lifegroup and she was playing her classical guitar. I thought she was "taken" by this other guy in our group because they were "running partners" But as soon as I found out they werent dating (it literally was like 3 weeks) I started pursuing her hard core. I mean i called her everyday.

We were 21 and after 3 weeks of hanging as friends i asked her like a doofus if she wanted to be my girlfriend.. it was the most nervous i had ever been…. before i proposed.

  5. My wife and I met after church (where I am also a drummer – a trend???) after being encouraged to follow each other on Twitter by one of our church leaders. Many months later I was invited to a gathering that included her and another person that our friend was trying to set me up with. So, to avoid an awkward situation, I called my wife and simply said "just so you know, I'm actually interested in you. Am I far off here?"

By the way, we were married about 72hrs ago!
