How are you doing? No really, how are you doing?

That question is probably answered differently depending on the subject we are talking about and the season of life that you are in right now. Sometimes I need to put more focus on my marriage, or writing, or projects, or family, or time management, or whatever else there is…

I know our goal is to be great in every area of life, but when focus is put on one area, then another one might slip a little. This is natural until something becomes a habit. Creating great habits is the key and this definitely takes some intense focus. When we do this, we get the results that we wanted all along.

But in the end, if we are better for putting in the work, then it is all worth it.

What area of life are you putting some intense focus on right now? You can leave a comment below.

  1. Some years back, in college, I had a conversation with an older Polish man who shared his thoughts on the question, “how are you?”  He said that he doesn’t understand why you would ask this question and not listen to the response… asking this in passing with really inappropriate.  As we further discussed this topic I completely understood his stance.  Since then, I’ve made it a point to stop and listen to the person’s response or stop and make it known that I intend to listen to their response.  This has been one of the greatest tweaks to my conversation etiquette.

I am making the time to focus more on my relationships and writing.  I wasn’t taking the time for people I should have & I wasn’t writing as often as I wanted… my brain was clogging up and I was tired of collecting ideas/inspirations on small pieces of paper or my iPod.  I was putting my job first and saw how various areas of my life was depleting. doing that was no bueno.
